05 — Website Maintenance
The site stays fast, secure and current — without you thinking about it
Updates, monitoring, backups and content changes on a flat monthly fee. The work that is invisible when it is done and very visible when it is not.
A website is not furniture. Dependencies pick up security advisories, browsers change, certificates expire, and the contact form that worked in March quietly stops sending in September. Nobody notices until a customer does.
Maintenance is the unglamorous work of making sure that does not happen: patching what has a published vulnerability, watching whether the site is actually up, keeping a backup that has been tested rather than assumed, and making the content changes you need without a quote for each one.
It is flat-fee on purpose. Per-change billing quietly teaches you not to ask, and a site nobody updates is how it ends up out of date.
What you get
Security and dependency updates
Patches applied and verified against the real site, not applied blind and hoped for.
Uptime and error monitoring
We find out the site is down or throwing errors before your customers tell you.
Backups that have been restored
A backup nobody has ever restored is a guess. These get tested.
Content changes
Prices, hours, photos, a new service, seasonal copy. Included, not billed per request.
A monthly note
What changed, what needed attention, and anything worth your decision. Short, in plain language.
How it works
A look at what you have
Current state, dependencies, where the risks are. You get that assessment whether or not you continue.
Start the plan
Monthly from then on. No contract term — cancel whenever it stops being worth it.
Monthly work and a note
The work happens, and you get a short summary rather than a silence you have to trust.
Common questions
What is actually included for $100 a month?
Security and dependency updates, uptime and error monitoring, tested backups, and content changes like prices, hours, photos and copy. Larger work — a new booking system, a redesign, a new integration — is quoted separately, and we will tell you when a request crosses that line before doing it.
Do you maintain sites you did not build?
Often, yes. It starts with a look at what you have, because some platforms cannot be maintained sensibly and it would be dishonest to take a monthly fee for pretending otherwise. You get that assessment either way.
Is there a contract?
No term. It is monthly and you can stop whenever it stops being worth it. Everything is in your name already, so leaving means changing nothing but the billing.
What if the site goes down at 2am?
Monitoring alerts us rather than waiting for you to notice. This is a small studio, not a 24/7 operations desk, so we are honest about that: we respond quickly, and if you need a guaranteed overnight response time you need a different arrangement, which we can scope.
